Donegal Creameries and the GAA are pleased to announce a new initiative aimed at improving and rewarding the skills of primary schools students in the county. The campaign will see GAA coaches call to schools throughout the county whereby skills of boys and girls will be tested through various drills. The winners from each school will then progress to regional finals. From this regional winners will compete in the grand final of Daisi’s GAA Schools Skills Challenge taking place on June 13th in McCumhaill Park Ballybofey under the watchful eye of a few well-know GAA figures in the county!

Speaking at the launch of the competition, Niall O’Donnell Sales Manager of Donegal Creameries said ‘we are very pleased to be involved in this worthwhile and beneficial challenge for primary school students. Hopefully we’ll be able to discover some future county stars through this campaign!’

Donegal GAA Coaching Officer Mick Murphy added ‘It’s great that Donegal Creameries have come on board to help this new development get underway. Both myself and all the coaches involved are enthusiastic about this campaign and we hope the students will begin practising their skills immediately!’

O’Donnell added ‘having entered the third year of our current GAA sponsorship with the county adult teams, we felt it was also important for Donegal Creameries to show our commitment to the development of our county’s future stars. We are also keen to emphasis the promotion of sport and a healthy lifestyle for primary schools students, which complements the ethos of Donegal Creameries and our dairy business.

Daisi’s GAA School Challenge ‘throws in’ during the month of May. No doubt the ‘cream of the crop’ will be on show in Primary Schools throughout Donegal!
